I have had the experience of being shepered by Taiga on two seperate experiences in two different cities.
In Kyoto, Taiga took us to some popular spots and had great insight into both the historical knowledge of each place and modern evolutions! I was sad to know that many of the original temples have been burned down and recreated over time! We ended the experience with a private Matcha Tea Ceremony where Taiga acted as a translator for the Matcha Master!
In Osaka, we requested a food tour. Taiga came up with a great itinerary of the popular Osaka Food Options, with some great local places off the beaten path!
Overall, Taiga was an amazing guide! The historical tours were very insightful! Be prepared for pop quizzes though, before Taiga reveals the secrets of each place! The Food Tour was well crafted and exactly what we hoped for!
I would hire Taiga again in the future for tours and experiences!
I’ve been lucky enough to have Taiga do several tours on my two trips to Japan so far. I always appreciate his engaging humor and providing a broader historical context to what ever area we’re in, food we’re eating or activity we’re up to.
I always appreciate how easy and stress-free Taiga makes excursions, taking care of booking tea ceremonies, samurai demonstrations, izakayas, etc.
Being able to switch between tour ideas for a single traveler and then accomodating friends and family was a great asset and greatly appreciated.
Always very reasonable prices and I always feel the experiences I have are some of my favorite memories in Japan. I highly recommend booking with Taiga!
We booked with Taiga for both Kobe and Kyoto and he was just brilliant in organising everything to suit us so our bride trip was memorable and interesting – we can’t recommend him enough – we hope to come back and will ask him to sort out everything in Japan as he has all the contacts and knowledge – thank you taiga
Tiger was our guide for one day each in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. It was really special to experience these cities with him and have a local perspective. He is knowledgeable about cultural tradition and history and was able to translate some of the staff’s information they shared at certain landmarks. We are typically pretty independent travelers, but the ability to have a personal guide for a few days of our trip with something we couldn’t pass up, especially since Taiga was recommended to us by friends. I will absolutely work with him again when I return to Japan.
Taiga was our tour guide. He took all 8 of us through the trains and recommended the bullet train from Kobe port to Kyoto. He was wonderful, knowledgeable and spoke great English. He was in tune with our family and took the time to teach our kids and us about Japanese culture. while at the shrine he used it as a teaching opportunity to teach our kids about Zen and how one must be flexible in body and mind. I loved that he took time to get to know us. We even had a great at the revolving sushi bar. Kyoto was beautiful and he helped take photos of our family throughout. Thank you Taiga San for the wonderful day!!!
